PDAA Master Certified



Charles A. Uyleman, the President of Devil Dog Installations, retired as a Master Sergeant from the United States Marine Corps, after over 23 years of service, in 1998. His military career led him through extensive training, certifications and accommodations in the following areas: Infantry (1975-79), Aviation Structural Mechanics, Metal Smith, Welding, Non-Destructive Inspections, Airframes (1979-92) and Military Recruiting (1986-89 and 1992-96). Charles served in Operation Desert Shield/Storm and finished his military career as the Maintenance Chief for the Harrier Squadron, VMA311, in Yuma, Arizona (1996-98).

Following his retirement, Charles was contacted by a former Marine, whose family owns GM Nameplate, to start a new division (Large Format Digital Graphics) called McGraw Division, currently known as SuperGraphics. They needed a Project Manager, as well as a Director of Installations. Charles decided to take a chance on a new career and welcomed the challenge with no perceived conceptions. After being employed for almost 10 years with SuperGraphics/GM Nameplate, Charles decided to open his own business as an Independent Subcontractor. Devil Dog Installations, located in Seattle, Washington, officially launched in April 2008.

According to tradition in the USMC, the German name “Teufelshunde”, translation: “devil dogs”, was given to U.S. Marines by German soldiers who fought in the Battle of Belleau Wood in 1918. It has come to be considered a sign of respect for the tenacious determination of the Marines. A retired Marine, Charles felt it best suited to drive his company with the same values of leadership, spirit, loyalty and honor the U.S. Marines instilled in him. Hence the name Devil Dog Installations was created.

We are proud to have gone through the advanced training and certification to be one of the few companies in North America to be certified in installing TrafficWrapz products and technology.
